Drachar, banished by his own people, forges an unholy alliance with the demons by offering them ten thousand souls, but the demons demand one hundred thousand and without quibbling Drachar accepts. Only all out war will deliver so many souls and the old enemy, Trosgarth, is his only potential ally, but he must cross the land to confront their king and persuade him to his cause. Drachar has the power of the demon world at his command, but madness threatens when the demons plague his dreams, demanding souls.
His people, the Eldric, realise that they must learn to combat the growing threat by summoning demons themselves to exploit any weakness they may find. However, it is an exceptionally brave man that confronts a demon let alone tries to kill one. Their scales are impervious to blades and any mistake results in the demon claiming another soul for eternal damnation.
The race is on for war threatens; a war like no other for sorcerer will battle sorcerer and demon set against demon. Read sample chapters, click on the book.

Prophecy of the Kings on Youtube.
In a land fraught with danger, Vastra seeks an Eldric talisman to enhance his ever growing powers. Selfish and uncaring he uses people regardless of their fate. He imposes his will on Kaplyn and Lars, recruiting them to his aim, but Kaplyn is strong willed and not easily swayed. Lars, shipwrecked and friendless is an outcast in more ways then one. Together the three men seek what became of the Eldric. Vastra, initially in charge, soon finds himself forced to follow Kaplyn and as his dreams are initially fulfilled, Kaplyn becomes a thorn in his side.
Their journey takes them to a mysterious tower, beset by traps, where Kaplyn triggers a chain of events unleashing the full power of a prophecy that could doom them all. Deep in the heart of a mountain lays a power that not even Vastra has the audacity to envision. But who really is guiding Vastra’s destiny? Kaplyn has the talisman and, for all of Vastra’s threats, he is unwilling to part with it.
An epic fantasy set in a unique world as dragons, demons and guardian angels are set to clash.
If things can go wrong - they will, or so it seems. Astalus, the Thracian court wizard, is dragged into a deepening crisis. It starts when a spy is arrested, brazenly trying to enter the city. The spy’s claims are bizarre to say the least. An army from Trosgarth, krell and grakyn, are gathered in the mountains. Presumably to attack the city. Myths and legends. But, what is real. Allund, an ancient ally is marching from the west, their intent to wage war on Thrace.
Kaplyn’s dreams are haunted by the fear of dragons. But dragons are a myth! Terror stalks his nightmares while fear and death make his waking hours seem less welcome than his night time horrors. Unknown to Kaplyn, his shaol (guardian spirit), has been replaced with that of a dead emperor. Shastlan, usurper and murderer. In a land fraught with betrayal, fear and death, the shadows are deepening.
High fantasy. Unique to Burrows. Recommended. Read sample chapters, click on the book.
Astalus has returned bearing glad tidings. He has found an Eldric spell book within which is a spell to summon dragons. In high spirits, the allies march north to confront Trosgarth’s growing might. But the people of Trosgarth have not been idle. Warrior priests communicate across the battlefield using their shaol, (guardian spirits) death knights have been resurrected, and in the air grakyn are supported by a new threat—a demon/dragon hybrid. To make matters worse, the power that Kaplyn and Vastra recovered so long ago can open a permanent gateway to the demon world. Drachar could soon be free and then nothing will prevent him leading his minions from the depths of hell.
However, all is not as it seems. Astalus, the army’s best hope for victory, is possessed by a demon. The stage is set for the final confrontation and Drachar is poised, his death knights ready to tear the army apart. Night is coming, a night of fear, shadow and death.

The ending of the story is quite exceptional, poignant and more than a little bittersweet. Shadow of the Demon is triumph of high fantasy, a rich, rewarding end to a phenomenal series and should not be missed. Sfbooks.com
